Employee FAQ

Quick answers to the questions employees ask most.

"I got the daily question wrong — am I in trouble?"

No, not at all. A wrong answer earns zero points for that question, and that's the extent of it. You'll see the correct answer and an explanation, then you carry straight on with your work. BongoShield is built around learning, not punishment — getting one wrong is just another chance to learn.

"Why do I have to do this every day?"

Because that's what makes it work. Security knowledge fades quickly, and attackers count on that. A few seconds each day keeps the important habits fresh so you're ready when a real threat shows up. It's the difference between cramming once a year and staying genuinely sharp.

"How long does the daily question take?"

Just a few seconds. It's one multiple-choice question. There's a short countdown timer to keep things moving, but you don't need to rush.

"I'm locked out / I can't sign in. What do I do?"

Contact your organization's IT team or BongoShield administrator — they can help you get back in. Common things they can sort out quickly:

  • Resetting or updating your account.
  • Confirming you're using the right sign-in method (your admin can tell you whether your organization uses Single Sign-On or an email-and-password login).
  • Fixing anything on the account side.

BongoShield's support team can't reset an individual employee's access directly — your own admin is always the fastest route.

"Do I need a separate BongoShield password?"

It depends on your organization. If you use Single Sign-On (for example, your Microsoft or Google work account), you sign in the same way you do for your other work apps — often with no separate BongoShield password at all. If your organization uses local accounts, you'll have a BongoShield password set for you. Either way, just start by typing your work email and BongoShield takes you to the right place.

"What are points and the leaderboard for?"

They make building good habits a little more fun and rewarding. Points recognise consistent participation, and the leaderboard adds friendly, low-pressure competition. See Points, Streaks & Leaderboard.

"I think I received a phishing email. What should I do?"

Report it — see Reporting Suspicious Emails. When in doubt, always report. You'll never be in trouble for reporting something that turns out to be harmless.

"Can other people see my answers or my score?"

Your individual daily answers are your own. Your points contribute to the leaderboard so you can see how you rank, and your administrators can see participation and progress across the organization to help everyone improve. For more on how your data is handled, see Security & Trust.
