General¶

What is BongoShield in one sentence?¶

An Identity-Aware Security Awareness Platform that turns security awareness into a quick daily habit — one short security question before each work day — alongside phishing awareness campaigns, training, and risk dashboards.

How is this different from normal security training?¶

Traditional training happens once a year and is quickly forgotten. BongoShield delivers a little every day, so awareness actually sticks. It's woven into how people already work rather than being a separate event.

Is BongoShield available in my region / for my type of organization?¶

BongoShield is built for East African organizations — banks, telecoms, government institutions, and growing businesses — and runs as both a cloud service and an on-premise install.

For employees¶

I got the daily question wrong — am I in trouble?¶

No. Wrong answers earn zero points for that question and nothing more. You'll see the correct answer and an explanation, then carry on. It's learning, not punishment.

Why do I have to answer every day?¶

Because daily practice is what makes security awareness stick. It takes only a few seconds and keeps good habits fresh.

I think I received a phishing email.¶

Report it — see Reporting Suspicious Emails. When in doubt, always report.

For administrators¶

BongoShield is email-first: employees type their work email and are routed to the right method automatically — either Single Sign-On (Microsoft, Google, or another SAML/OIDC provider) or an email-and-password login.

How do I bring my employees into BongoShield?¶

You can bring people in automatically from your directory or Single Sign-On, or add them manually. See Users, Departments & Roles.

How does the daily question reach employees?¶

At sign-in, and/or inside the tools they use — the Outlook add-in, the Roundcube plugin, or the browser extension. See Mail-Client & Browser Gate Options and Integrations.

Which mail platforms are supported?¶

Microsoft 365 (Outlook add-in and/or SSO), Google Workspace (SSO + browser extension), Roundcube (plugin), and other webmail/web apps (SSO + browser extension). See the matrix on the Integrations page.

Can I run simulated phishing tests?¶

Yes — see Phishing Awareness Campaigns. Create a campaign, pick a template, choose who receives it, and review who reported it.

Can I limit what team leads can see?¶

Yes. The Manager and department-scoped Viewer roles limit access to specific departments. See Users, Departments & Roles.

Can I get reports for leadership?¶

Yes — BongoShield exports polished, executive-ready PDF reports. See Reports & Dashboards.

Is my organization's data kept separate and secure?¶

Yes. Each organization is isolated, data is encrypted, and significant activity is audit-logged. BongoShield runs as cloud or on-premise. See Security & Trust.
