The Daily Question¶
The daily security question is the core of BongoShield. It's a quick, friendly habit that keeps security awareness fresh — a little every day instead of a lot once a year.
When you'll see it¶
You'll see today's question once per work day, at the start of your day when you sign in. Depending on how your organization has set things up, it may appear:
- On the BongoShield sign-in page, or
- Inside your email app (for example, an Outlook or webmail prompt), or
- Through a browser prompt for web-based work apps.
However it appears, the experience is the same: one question, a quick answer, and you're on your way.
What a question looks like¶
Each question is multiple choice with a single best answer. For example:
Which of these is a sign of a phishing email?
- A sender you recognise
- Urgent language pushing you to click a link
- Plain text with no attachments
- A message from your IT department
Topics rotate across everyday security themes — phishing, passwords, safe browsing, data handling, social engineering, and more. Questions are chosen to be relevant and to help you practise the areas that matter most.
Answering¶
- Read the question and the options.
- A short countdown timer appears — it's there to keep things brisk, not to stress you. Answer at a comfortable pace.
- Select your answer and submit.
After you answer¶
- Correct → you earn points, and a short explanation confirms why.
- Incorrect → you still see the correct answer with a clear explanation, then you continue. Nothing bad happens.
- Timed out → you see the explanation and continue.
The explanation is the real value: even when you get it right, you'll often pick up a useful detail.
Fresh every day
You won't get the same question repeated back-to-back. Over time you'll see a variety of topics, with a gentle focus on the areas where a little more practice helps.
Why every day?¶
Security awareness fades fast. A single annual course is forgotten within days. A few seconds every day keeps the important habits — pause before you click, check the sender, protect your password — top of mind, so they're there when a real attacker tries their luck.
